Equalizing the quality of coal for thermal power plants

  • The need to equalise (homogenise) quality of coal comes out from the fact that, when used in thermal power plants, homogenous energy value of coal should be applied instead of its mass. Therefore, constant changes in quality of coal during exploitation makes it necessary to be homogenised. The paper presents procedures and modern technologies applied to perform the homogenisation by a continuous follow-up of certain coal characteristics by the use of modern on-line analysers of different types.
